About Gala Dartford
As you can see from the picture above, the Gala Dartford bingo hall is housed within an old converted cinema. Originally named State Cinema, it was opened in 1935 and housed over 1500 seats. Back in its day, the cinema was a busy meeting point and the hub of the Dartford community. The interior was designed in a neoclassical style, and if I don’t say so, it looked quite splendid indeed!
The cinema was later renamed as the Grenada cinema (pictured above) in 1949 and later closed in 1975, where it became a bingo hall. Since then, Gala has taken over the operation and has turned it into a nice little place to play bingo.
The modern hall has 30 parking spaces, cash machine, a hearing loop, disabled facilities, slot machines, a bar, a diner, and of course, lots of fun bingo games.
Getting to the hall is easy, it’s within walking distance of the train station. It is also within close walking distance of the following FastTrack bus stops: 480, 490, 414, 492, 96, 428.
