A penny a ticket is not the same as a penny a game. Penny rooms let you buy a stack of cards for the same draw, and the maximums are higher than most people assume. Foxy allows 150 tickets per player in its No Fox Given room. Buzz sets the limit at 120 in Buzz Pennies. Max out either and one game costs £1.50 or £1.20, which is dearer than a single 20p ticket in a quieter room. That said, most people don’t buy single tickets on their own.
The appeal of buying deep is obvious, because more cards mean more numbers to cover. The catch is that a room sold on its penny price can work through a ten pound note inside an hour if auto-buy is sitting on its highest setting.
Penny Rooms and Penny Days Explained
Roughly half the sites here keep a penny bingo room open permanently. Mecca’s Penny Lane, MrQ’s Pinch a Penny and Lucky Pants’ Penny Paradise all run 24 hours a day, so the price at three in the morning matches the price at teatime.
The rest run penny days instead. Betfred gives the Game On room over to 1p tickets on Thursdays. Sun Bingo splits it across 1p Thursdays and 2p Tuesdays. William Hill runs a Tuesday of its own, discounting the Main Room with its Bingo Linx games included. Arrive on the wrong day, and the cheapest seat costs ten or twenty times more than the promotion promised.
There is a second difference that nobody advertises. A weekly penny day funnels every bargain hunter on the site into one room at one time, which makes the games fuller and thins the prize per winner. A round-the-clock penny room spreads the same players across the day.
The Room Name Can Be Misleading
Zingo Bingo runs a room called Penny Arcade where the buy-in opens at 2p. Rosy Bingo’s cheapest is Beachball Blast, also 2p, and its Zoom Room sells at 7p despite sharing a name with the 1p Zoom Rooms at Butlers and Glossy. Panda Bingo and Lights Camera Bingo both start at 2p as well.
Two pence is still cheap bingo and none of these sites is doing anything wrong. A 2p ticket is twice the price of a 1p one, though, so they sit here rather than in the list above.
Three brands have come off this page altogether; we used to feature them. Dotty Bingo, Bingo Diamond and Bucky Bingo carried no penny room we could find when we last visited.
Sites We Don’t Promote
Two of the better penny rooms in the UK belong to brands we have no working relationship with. There is no card for either and no link to their lobbies, but leaving them out would make this page less useful than it should be.
Paddy Power runs Paddy’s Pennies, a 90-ball room open around the clock with tickets from 1p and special pots that drop at the 36th and 40th call. When we looked in for our Paddy Power Bingo review, 803 players were in the room playing for a £200 full house with a progressive above £9,000 running beside it. It’s a decent room, and we thought it would be important to mention it on our page to give you the honest scope of the industry.
Tombola is the other. Its Paper game sells tickets at 1p, 2p, 10p or 20p and caps your outlay at £1 per game, the tightest max of anything on this page. Clear the strip in six calls and the jackpot reaches £2,000. Do it in five and it climbs to £10,000. Penny Bingo, Free Bingo and Newbie Rooms
Three cheap ways to play that regularly get muddled together. A penny room charges 1p a ticket and pays real prizes. A free room charges nothing but usually expects a recent deposit before it lets you in. A newbie room is free and open only to new accounts, and only for a week or so.

Prize pots in penny rooms are shared between everyone holding a winning card, and a busy room splits them further. Zebra’s In for a Penny game showed an £8 prize with 138 players sitting in it when we last checked, which is the honest scale of the thing. Penny bingo is a cheap way to spend an evening in a chat room, not a route to a payout. From a responsible gambling standpoint, this is something key to keep in mind.
Bonus money is the other thing to read twice. Since 2026, no UK bonus may carry more than 10x wagering, which is a real improvement, but plenty of offers still exclude the cheapest rooms from counting towards it.
