Goldfish Bingo was launched in February 2011 as part of the Best Bingo Network and is powered by the Cozy Games software, so apart from the name, logo, and design, it’s basically a carbon copy of the other sites in the group. A couple of these other sites you may be aware of on the network include Gone Bingo and WOW Bingo.
That’s not to say it’s bad, as there are some good options for bingo and other games, a decent selection of promotions, and prices to suit every budget, but it’s far from original, the prize pots can be pretty meagre, and the minimum withdrawal is on the high side at £50.
We’re not sure what the connections between bingo and goldfish are, but that could be said for many online bingo sites, so we won’t be too pedantic!
The home page features said goldfish in a bowl, and the colour scheme is bright pink with circles which could be bubbles – but your guess is as good as ours.
The main focus here is the 400% bonus on the first deposit you make, plus the £15 balance you get free no deposit needed, but there’s also information about jackpots, featured games, and promotions.
There is a very simple registration process, but if you do belong to other sites in the same network and use the same email address you’ll have to log in with those details and forego the sign-up and deposit bonuses.
Once you’ve filled in those details you’ll need to verify your email address by activating your account through a link in an email, check your Spam box if you don’t receive it.
Most of the major payment options for deposits are accepted, but it’s a lot easier to deposit money than it is to withdraw it – so check out all the T&Cs before you play with real money.
18+. New players only. Wagering requirements apply. See website for full T&C’s.
The lobby area is busy but clean and concise, and easy to follow.
Bingo & Other Games
The layout in the Bingo room lobby is pretty simple, so it’s easy to identify the game types, time, prices, prizes, jackpots, and numbers playing – there’s also a quick pre-buy option available.
There is a selection of 30, 75, 80, and 90 ball bingo to choose from, plus some free gameplay, and you can also access the numerous Slots, Casino Games, and Scratch Cards from clearly marked tabs too.
The bingo rooms are well laid out, and have lots of information at a glance, including current game details, jackpots if they apply, your profile, tabs for the lobby, banking, options to customise the page, and there are lots of mini-games to play while you’re waiting for the main event to start.
Buying bingo cards is made simple by selecting them as usual or using a slider, and your generic caller keeps things relatively real with the traditional number calls. There are plenty of progressive jackpots in the bingo and Slots sections too, so keep an eye on these as the pots grow until they’re won.
Despite the late hour, the Chat Room and Chat Hosts were very busy, and they all seem to be familiar with each other, so there was a good sense of community – I was welcomed with open arms and even felt compelled to add some lame emoticons of my own!
There are lots of the latest Slots including Wild Vegas, Honey Bees, and Lucky Devil, as well as Blackjack, Roulette, Poker, and Keno on the Casino floor, and a small range of Scratch Cards to choose from too.
Promotions & Bonuses
There are quite a few promotions going on with 12 hours of free games in the Freedom Bingo 30 ball Room with up to a £250 bonus to be won every day, a Miracle Money Ladder with four jackpots daily worth up to £25,000 for the month of May, and every time you log in, you get £1 free cash with the Pile Up Your Pounds promo.
Spread the word to your friends, and if they sign up you get bonus points, and 100% match of their first deposit plus 10% of all their deposits for the first 60 days – so it’s definitely worth your while!
The Chat Hosts can make or break a site, and here they definitely make it, working tirelessly to keep everyone happy and entertained.
Loyalty points can be won by playing Chat Games and all the other games on the site, as well as depositing and winning, and these can build up pretty quickly, and can then be converted into bonus points – but of course, there are plenty of T&Cs that apply here.
There is a link to the Best Bingo network news through the Blog tab, and it’s relatively informative, but not very active and nothing special.
Similarly, there are Facebook and Twitter links, but with few followers between them, and no apparent action since 2013, it’s not worth wasting your time here.
If you’re stumped with anything, there’s a good FAQ section, or there’s the live chat option, Chat Hosts, and email support to turn to 24/7.
So, we didn’t find anything bad about Goldfish Bingo, but it didn’t really rock our world either, despite some good gameplay, a busy community, and decent prizes.
Obviously, this is just our opinion, because the site claims to have over a million members, so that’s a lot of people who seem to disagree with us!
Personally, I think there are much better no deposit bingo sites to play at. With that said, it’s part of a trusted network, which has great games and provides some decent value.
