Around 2018 the Cozy bingo operation was taken over by ElectraWorks Limited, then part of GVC Holdings, the group that would later rename itself Entain. On paper it looked like a large gambling company buying a busy little bingo network. In practice it marked the beginning of the end for the white-label brands.

What Happened to the Cozy Sites?

Once the network sat inside a FTSE-listed operator, the maths changed. Dozens of near-identical small sites, each with its own marketing, promotions and support to run, made far less sense for a company that already owned the likes of Ladbrokes and Coral. Between roughly 2018 and 2020, the vast majority of the Cozy brands were wound down. Tightening UK regulation and a broader shift towards a handful of big, trusted names did the rest.

There was a fairly dramatic collapse, with a large amount going at once, followed by a steady switching off of the lights. Regulars at sites like Gone Bingo and Little Miss Bingo found their favourites redirecting elsewhere, or simply gone.

What Happened After?

The white-label brands are gone, but the technology didn’t vanish with them. Entain folded the Cozy know-how into its own bingo operation, so a trace of it lives on behind bigger names like Gala Bingo and Foxy Bingo, both now run under Entain’s LC International licence. The original Cozy Games company, for its part, still lists itself as an active software provider from its Isle of Man base, even if the no-deposit heyday is firmly behind it.
