About Gala Tooting
Gala Bingo Tooting is worth a visit just for the exquisite interior and the rich history of the venue alone – but the Bingo’s great too!
The building was built in 1931 and was originally the Granada Cinema, built in Art Deco style, but the Gothic interior was designed by the famous Russian stage set designer, Theodore Komisarjevsky. Not only was it a cinema, but also a stage for stars of the time like Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, and Jerry Lee Lewis.
The building stopped showing films in the early 70’s, but was preserved by the local council, and reopened as a Bingo hall in 1976.
Gala Tooting has parking for 320, disabled facilities and hearing loops, a smoking shelter, cash machines, slots, and a bar and diner that offers early bird specials, mains, snacks and light bites, and of course yummy desserts.
