As a guide, the main books usually start at £3 – £6 and the electronic books from £10. The National game runs about £2.50 for five tickets, and morning bingo is the cheap way in, from £2 on paper or £4 on the bees.

What stands out is how much runs free. The noon and 12.45pm early games are often free, along with the 6.15pm and 6.45pm early sessions and a late game at 9.20pm, so you can fill an afternoon or evening for very little.

Club 3000 Bingo Blackpool counts among the country’s newer bingo halls. Rather than taking on an old club, the company put up a purpose-built venue at Festival Leisure Park and opened the doors on 1 July 2023, with around £5 million spent on the fit-out. It’s a different place entirely from the long-standing Mecca club in the town centre, so it’s worth knowing which one you’re heading to.

Unlike a lot of clubs, Blackpool still puts on a late-morning game. It starts at 11.45am Monday to Saturday, with the afternoon following at 12.45pm and the evening’s games from 6.15pm. Play it on paper or on the electronic tablets, whichever you prefer, and there’s no charge to become a member, whether you sort it on arrival or online first.

Being a recent build, the place is smart and well laid out. Off the main hall, you’ll find a room of slot machines, a licensed bar and a place to eat, with space to settle in for the night without feeling crammed in.

Festival Leisure Park sits just south of Blackpool town centre, off Rigby Road and a short walk back from the seafront, roughly in line with Central Pier. There’s parking on site, but it’s limited to 3 hours, so read the signage before you leave the car. The closest bus stops sit on Rigby Road, a two-minute walk away, with the 5 and the 7 calling there, and the 7 runs through to the main bus station. The seafront tram is about an eight-minute walk, handy if you’re coming in along the coast.

Promotions are a big part of the draw. Buddy Bingo gives every member a buddy voucher, and if your buddy wins, you take home the same prize. Double Bubble nights pay double when a win lands on a double number, and voucher weekends knock £5 off a book or add 12 tickets on the tablets. These come and go, so it’s worth seeing what’s on before a visit.
