BOGOF Bingo Review

What Happened to BOGOF Bingo?

BOGOF Bingo, named for its buy-one-get-one-free bingo tickets, is closed. The page at its address now states plainly that the site is permanently closed and no longer accepts registrations or deposits. The brand had more than one life, though. Our review below covers the version run by Bucky Bingo, a Betfred company, on Virtue Fusion software.

The Closure Notice

The notice now on the address lists six bingo sites run by ProgressPlay Limited, licensed under account 39335, including Queens Bingo. The page doesn’t say who published it.

Login and Balances

There’s no BOGOF Bingo login any more, and the closure page gives no contact for old accounts. If your account dates from the Betfred-run version we reviewed, Bucky Bingo was the operator named at the time, so Betfred is the place to start. For a later account, the closure page offers no route.

Bonus Offers

The BOGOF ticket deals and the welcome package of a £10 bonus plus 50 Rainbow Riches spins belong to the old site. The offers on the closure page are for the other sites it lists, under their own terms, and aren’t BOGOF bonuses.

Networked Alternatives

BOGOF ran on Virtue Fusion, so for the same software Sun Bingo is our pick. You’ll find the other closures in the closed bingo sites roundup.

BOGOF Bingo in Its Betfred Days (Our 2014 Review)

We first published this in April 2014, over Easter, which is why it mentions a weekend special.

Main Details

Welcome Offer

BOGOF Bingo is a fun, patriotic, and entertaining site with lots of good gameplay and a busy community – and in case you thought BOGOF was a swear word, it’s actually Buy One Get One Free, which happens here a lot! The site is operated by Bucky Bingo, a Betfred company, in partnership with Virtue Fusion, so you’ll probably recognize some of the games and promotions, but it doesn’t detract from the high enjoyment factor here.

Possibly the biggest reason to join BOGOF is the new player welcome bonus. Simply fund your account with £10 and you will receive an extra £10 in bonus cash, plus you will also get 50 free spins on Rainbow Riches. That’s not all, make your second deposit and you will get a £10 games bonus, then on your third deposit, you will receive a further 20 free spins on Rainbow Riches. All in all, that’s a £20 welcome bonus + 70 free spins!

First Impressions

BOGOF Bingo was launched in 2009 riding the coattails of TV’s Britain’s Got Talent, and even signed up one of the contestants to lead the campaign – DJ Talent was all over the show marketing the site when it first came on the scene, but these days he’s a bit passé… and that’s being polite.

As soon as you open the home page you get a sense of what this site is all about, with its red, white, and blue colour schemes, union jacks, and a saucy minx pouting, it’s all a bit tongue in cheek and some good light entertainment.

The main promotions, featured games, jackpots, winners, and navigational tabs for the rest of the site are laid out well, are user-friendly, and stick with the design of the site. All major payment options are accepted, and the site proclaims it to be 100% secure and based on previous experience with other Virtue Fusion sites, we have no reason to doubt them.

Bonuses and Promotions

It was hard to keep track of all the promotions going on, especially as it was easter when we checked out this site, so there was a massive weekend special going on. There are regular bingo games with generous guaranteed prizes, £50 Friday with a share of the aforementioned up for grabs, and a £250K weekend running for three days every month.

The site is very informative, but if you need some extra support there is an email option or a live chat tab, for 24-hour service.

Bingo and Slots Games

In the lobby, you can easily see the current bingo games playing, and prizes, prices, and players, and you can filter for your game style preference. There’s also an extensive schedule of all the games played that day, with options to pre-buy so you don’t miss out – not surprisingly, there is a Britain’s Got Talent Bingo room.

The site offers 90, 80, and 75 ball bingo, with a decent selection of free bingo games, and it lives up to its name with plenty of BOGOF bingo too! The bingo rooms are well laid out with an automatic ticket purchaser pop up making buying cards easy, or you can select your own if you prefer – cards start from just 1 penny. You can see all the info you need on this page, including details about the game, prizes, jackpots, and there’s a good selection of mini-games to keep you entertained in the quiet times. The chat hosts are super busy and engaging, and there are lots of fun chat games, and the community gets quite into it.

Compared to most sites these days, there isn’t a huge selection of slots, instants, and casino games, but the ones they do have are state of the art technology, modern, fun, and with some really good prizes.
