Session Prices
Coronet is unusual among independents in publishing a times and prices page that covers every session, so you can budget a night out before setting off.
The 12 page main book is £10 for 3 tickets or £20 for 6, and that covers the live links, the Fun Flyer, the Coronet Quadro and Jackpot Stars. Admission is a flat £1 on top.
Afternoons are priced the same as evenings. The Cashpot game is free, running at noon in the afternoon and 6:15pm in the evening, and the Cash Climber is included if you take the 6 ticket book. National Game tickets are £1 for 2 or £2.50 for 5.

About New Coronet Bingo
Three generations of one family have run this club. Bill and Norma Carpenter founded it, and it’s their son John and grandson Laurie who greet people at the door now. Norma stayed on as a director until 2021. That kind of continuity counts for something in a town of 30,000, and for rather more since the chains gave up on Oxfordshire altogether. Long service runs through the staff as well. Manager Sean Tucker has been there more than 30 years and assistant manager Josh Davis more than 10, and the wider team spans ages 18 to 80.
Bingo wasn’t the building’s first life. It opened as the Coronet in 1926, was rebuilt in 1933 with 712 seats and reopened as the New Coronet, and that name is still up on the frontage. Bingo arrived in 1971 and films carried on until 1974, the two sharing the building for three years. The older name is why the postal address says New Coronet Bingo Club while everybody calls it Coronet.
Games carry their own names here, though the National Game plays alongside the house books. Cash Climber builds a kitty that rolls from session to session, running past £1,400 the week this review was published, while lucky star numbers can double a prize where they land. One recent full house turned £300 into £600 that way. Both the bar and stage have been refurbished, and the club hosts cocktail and live music nights, with a bartender mixing drinks and a local band playing after the bingo has finished.
Buses stop outside on Broadway by the Civic Hall. The stop lists the 92, NX2 and X32, though only the X32 shows on the current timetable. Didcot Parkway is half a mile from the door, about 13 minutes on foot. If you drive, there are four spaces in front of the building, accessible bays on the left side and more parking behind the venue.
Membership is free, but the liquor licence means you can’t buy alcohol until 48 hours after your application goes in, which catches people out. Parties of five or more, and anyone who needs an accessible table, should ring on the day itself before doors open.
