There are currently over 200 UK bingo halls open, and many more are now closed. We maintain a page for every one we can verify, including addresses, session times, prices, and pictures, which are rechecked quarterly.

Closed clubs are left as a historical reference and include old pictures. Find your nearest club by chain or by county below. If you’re after something louder, our guide to bingo nights out covers party bingo and the clubs’ own event nights.

Why We List More Halls Than Are Open

The Halls Listed figure above counts pages, not clubs you could walk into tonight. When we took our 2026 bingo hall census on 9 July, 232 traditional halls were still trading across the UK. The rest of the directory is clubs that have gone.

We keep them because people still look for them. Eight Mecca clubs shut on Sunday 7 June 2026, and Croydon, Kingstanding and Sunderland closed without a single local news story. Their pages here record it.

You’ll see plenty of Gala Bingo pages too. Every Gala club still trading in September 2018 was renamed Buzz Bingo, so if your old local was a Gala, search your town for the Buzz page. Gala carries on as an online brand only, owned by Entain, with no link to Buzz.

Who Runs Britain’s Bingo Halls

Buzz Bingo had 76 open clubs at the census and Mecca had 41, so the two biggest names hold barely half the halls between them. Club 3000 ran 24, Castle Bingo 11 and Carlton Bingo 10, every one of Carlton’s in Scotland.

The other 65 are independents. Nobody publishes a national list of them, which is a large part of why this directory exists.

Club 3000 is the chain still opening halls. It opened in Leeds in August 2025 and is building a £5m club in Sunderland, in the shopping centre Mecca left in June.

How Far Is Your Nearest Club?

Further than it was for most people. Our bingo deserts study found 25.3 million people in Great Britain, 37.5% of the population, living more than five miles from a bingo club. Apollo Bingo in Camborne is the only club left in Cornwall, and neither Ceredigion nor Pembrokeshire has one at all.

Bingo Halls FAQ

How many bingo halls are there in the UK?

Our census counted 232 traditional bingo halls open on 9 July 2026. HMRC put the number of British bingo clubs at roughly 1,360 in the 1980s, so about five in every six have gone. We recount every year, and the full breakdown by chain and region is in the census.

Why are bingo halls closing?

Mostly buildings rather than players. We logged 12 permanent closures and 3 openings between July 2025 and July 2026, and the reasons operators gave were leases ending, repair bills and listed buildings, not falling demand. Bingo Duty was abolished on 1 April 2026 and Mecca still closed eight clubs nine weeks later.

How much does a night at the bingo cost?

Less than most people guess. When we priced it in 2026, a full evening on paper books at Mecca came to just under £20, with daytime and shorter sessions from £2. New members at Mecca get their first visit's bingo and a house drink for £5. Electronic terminals cost more because you're playing many more tickets per game. Each hall page lists that club's own prices.

What time does bingo start?

It depends on the club and the day. Mecca halls generally run afternoon games and a main evening session somewhere between 7pm and 9pm, while a Buzz club starts its first session in the late morning and can run six before closing. Session times are on each hall's page. If you're going for one particular game, ring the club first.

Can you drink at a bingo hall?

Yes. The chain clubs have bars, and Buzz's menu covers alcoholic drinks as well as soft ones. A new member's first visit at Mecca comes with a drink from the house menu. A bingo premises licence doesn't rule out alcohol the way an arcade licence does.

Can children go to a bingo hall?

No, they can't. Buzz, Mecca, Castle and Club 3000 are all over-18s only, and Buzz, Mecca and Castle run Think 25, so bring photo ID if you look young. You can join any of the four on the day you visit.
