First Impressions

Recently revamped, Polo Bingo has a new lease of life. The new web design is both aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. It has a very high-end feel to it, featuring lots of rich and vibrant colours. It kind of reminds us of a VIP style casino site.

There’s an oddity in what that homepage actually shows you. When we looked, everything below the magician and the £30 was a grid of slot thumbnails, Big Bass Bonanza and Gold Blitz and Immortal Romance, and you had to scroll past all of them before bingo got a mention anywhere in the text. For a site with bingo in the name, the shop window is mostly slots.

Polo Bingo is owned and operated by the same company that has brought you leading brands such as Robin Hood Bingo and Moon Bingo. Because of this, you will be able to relax knowing you are about to play at a reputable, fully licensed and UK regulated online bingo site.

Signing up and creating an account takes just a few minutes. You can register without making a deposit right away, which will allow you to look at the lobby and games. However, to get started playing bingo games and slots, you will want to claim the welcome bonus package.

Welcome Offer

Deposit £10 as a new player with the code WELCOME30 and Polo turns it into £30 of bingo bonus. A 300% match, with no second tier and no slots portion sitting behind it.

Polo’s own significant terms include a worked example that rather gives the percentage away. Put in £50, they say, and you’ll still receive £30. The £30 ceiling is what decides your payout whatever the multiplier claims, so a tenner is the only deposit that earns the full rate.

What lands is bingo money. It buys tickets rather than spins, it sits behind your cash balance until that reaches zero, and anything you win with it accumulates in the bonus balance instead of turning straight into cash.

The WELCOME30 Promo Code

WELCOME30 is the code, typed in at the deposit step once you’ve registered. There’s nothing for existing players to enter afterwards, and no second code doing the rounds.

It isn’t really Polo’s code, though. We’ve now reviewed seven other sites on the same Broadway licence running the identical deal behind the identical code, among them Sugar Bingo, Gossip Bingo, Loony Bingo and Chat Mag Bingo. Same 300%, same £30 ceiling, same wording in the smallprint.

So there’s little point comparing welcome offers across this family. The £30 travels with the licence, and what changes from one badge to the next is the artwork and the name above the door.

Bonus Wagering

Before you register, it is always worth having a quick read of the T&Cs and withdrawal restrictions. The most important of which are the 4x bingo and 10x games bonus wagering requirements.

At 4x, the bingo bonus is priced well under the 10x ceiling UK rules now allow, and £30 of bonus means £120 of tickets bought before the money becomes yours to withdraw. The games bonus sits right at that legal maximum.

Then there’s the bonus clock. Bonuses expire five days after they’re awarded, which is short, but at least the homepage prints it. The rule underneath doesn’t get the same billing. Go five days without logging in and Polo forfeits every bonus on the account, along with vouchers, free spins, chat points, loyalty points and any winnings still carrying a wagering requirement. It’s a true use-it-or-lose-it promotion.

Bingo Games and Slots

The software will likely be familiar to you if you have played at popular sites like Wink Bingo and Costa Bingo. This is because they use the same Dragonfish software licensed by Broadway Gaming. What does this mean in reality? Well, it simply means that the software used is fully licensed, tested and is 100% fair. It also has excellent reliability, is easy to use and is highly functional.

When it comes to the actual games on offer, you will be able to play both your favourite 75 ball and 90 ball versions. If you work your way up the VIP ladder after depositing, you will be able to gain access to the “Platinum Freebie” game each day which provides £100 free. Tickets start from just 1p each in paid games. You will also find a selection of tickets for 2p, 3p and 5p each. High rollers can dabble in 15p, 25p and 30p bingo games. Likewise, they can try their luck on the fantastic selection of slots offered.

Polo names a couple of its 90 ball rooms on its own bingo pages, Share the Wealth and Seeing Double, and says games run around the clock. The format that stands out is Swedish Bingo, five line rooms that most UK sites don’t bother stocking, sitting alongside the 75 and 90 ball games and the progressive jackpot rooms. Chat games run through the day in the live rooms, handing out coins that convert into playable money.

Speaking of slots, you will be able to get full access to a wide variety of games. Our favourites included Zuma, Fireworks Frenzy, and Lost Island. Unfortunately, you cannot play free online slots at Polo Bingo, you need to become a depositing player to get access to the games.

Bonuses and Promotions

That turns out to be harder than it sounds. Polo’s homepage tells you to check the promotions page for the latest bingo deals, and no promotions page exists. It isn’t listed in the site’s own sitemap, and going to the address returns a not-found screen. Whatever is live sits in the offers area behind the login, so you can’t see what you’re joining for until you’ve joined.

What Polo will document in public is thin on the ground. Chat games run in the live bingo rooms with coins as prizes, penny games appear on the mobile site, and the welcome bonus is the only promotion the site is willing to name. Earlier versions of this review listed a nightly £1,000 Daily Grand, a monthly Self Made Millionaire jackpot and a Money Penny penny game. Not one of the three can be checked against anything Polo publishes today, so they’ve come out rather than sit here unsupported.

Playing on Mobile

If you like playing bingo on the go, you will love this feature. Now you can play whenever you want on your smartphone or tablet. In order to gain access, all you need to do is scan the QR code on the mobile section of the site. Alternatively, just load up the homepage straight from your mobile phone.

There’s no app, on either store. Polo plays in a browser and nowhere else, which is what that no download required badge in its own footer is telling you. Anyone hunting for a Polo Bingo app is looking for something that has never existed, and the mobile site is the whole of the mobile offering.

Signup and Login

The registration form at Polo Bingo only consists of 4 short steps. This means you can create your account and be logged in and ready to play in approximately 3-5 minutes. These steps involve typing in your essential details such as your name, date of birth, address, email and phone number along with choosing a username and password. You will also be asked if you wish to receive any marketing information such as exclusive offers and bonuses from the site as well as ticking the box to confirm that you agree to the T&Cs and the privacy policy.

Two things can stop you getting back in afterwards. Polo serves the UK and Ireland only, so the account won’t open from abroad, and a VPN left running quietly in the background will block a Polo Bingo login just as effectively. The help centre lists it among the handful of usual causes, which suggests it catches people out often enough.

Verification asks for more than most sites do. As well as photo identification and a document carrying your address, Polo may want copies of the front and back of every card that has funded the account. A passport, driving licence or national ID card covers the first, and a utility bill, council tax bill or bank statement the second. Better to clear all that early than at the moment you want paying.

Deposit Options

The polobingo.com website takes the following payment methods:

  • Visa Debit
  • Mastercard Debit
  • PayPal
  • Apple Pay

All four pay out as well as in, and cashouts return along the same road the deposits came in on, to a card or account that has already been used to pay money in. Polo caps you at five registered payment methods per account. Wire transfer shows up on the withdrawal side only, used when your total cashouts run ahead of what you’ve paid in.

The minimum deposit/withdrawal in either direction is £10, and a request for less than that goes back to your cash balance instead of being processed. PayPal carries a 10p processing fee on every transaction, charged going out as well as coming in, so the no-fees line in older versions of this review no longer holds.

Polo Bingo withdrawal times depend on which of the site’s own sources you read. The deposit and withdrawal policy in the terms allows two business days to process and five more to complete for debit cards and Apple Pay, so four to seven business days all in, with PayPal at four to five and wire transfer at seven to ten. The help centre tells it differently, quoting one to two business days internally and then anything from an hour to five business days for a card. We’d plan around the figure in the terms, since that’s the one Polo is holding itself to in writing, and treat anything quicker as a happy surprise.

Licensing and Regulation

The UK licence behind Polo Bingo, account number 58267, is held by Broadway Gaming Ireland DF Limited, an Irish-registered company working under Gambling Commission rules in Great Britain. Polo hasn’t always sat there. Until June 2022 the brand ran under 888 UK Limited, and player accounts moved across with the licence when Broadway took the reins.

Further signs of trust include Polo’s claim that all of the games are audited and tested by eCOGRA to ensure fair play and honest payouts, plus their commitment to responsible gambling as can be seen with their various partnerships with the likes of GamStop, Gambling Therapy and the National Gambling Treatment Service.

For anything account-related, Polo Bingo live chat is the only door. It’s staffed around the clock, which counts for something, and there is no phone number published anywhere on the site, so nobody is taking calls about a stuck withdrawal. The terms give support@helpbingo.com for anything that needs a paper trail.

Sister Sites

The following similar websites are operated by the same parent company and use the same Dragonfish gaming software:

Ted is the only one of them Polo will name itself, tucked into the last paragraph of its own homepage as a recommendation. The licence carries a great many more, and everything travels with it, the rooms, the cashier, the slot shelf and that £30. If you want to browse a list of more sister sites, click here for our comprehensive directory.

Which makes choosing between them a question of taste rather than product.

Review Summary

Polo Bingo is a safe, licensed, perfectly functional place to play bingo, and that sentence is doing most of the work. The £30 is priced fairly enough at 4x wagering, the cashier is also straightforward, and nothing about the operation looks shaky.

The thin part is what surrounds the bingo. No promotions page to speak of, the casino side dark, and a payment method still advertised on a page that admits it has gone. None of those is serious on its own. Together they read like a site nobody has looked at in a good while, and the polish on the homepage makes the neglect underneath more obvious rather than less.

It’s not bad per se, and for a tenner and an evening you’d have a fine time of it. We land at 2.6 out of 5, and the gap to a better score is all the things a player would expect to find once the welcome offer has run out.
